Tucson, Arizona
Winner of the Tucson Gateway Competition sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts, this yet unrealized sculpture is designed to welcome visitors to Tucson’s central business district. A unique use of standard, off-the-shelf utility transmission poles (recycled steel) is coupled with a locally produced thin film photovoltaic skin to provide power for all gateway functions. This is one of a number of public and private art projects that Line and Space has created.
